Hire one of our Vintage 1980s Fish and Chip Vans "Betty" or "Beryl" for a cool addition to your day and a Truly British Catering Experience with Fish and Chips served from a Ford Transit!

Betty is a Truly Unique Vintage Fish and Chip Van, she was operational over 30 years ago on Local Fish & Chip rounds and has been put back into service in recent times, you will hard pushed to find a Mobile Catering Van that has been operational for as long as she has.

Beryl was left in storage for a while after been used on a MOD site in the 1980s and we have converted her into a Fish & Chips Van, although she doesn't have the same level of years of service as Betty she still has the same charm and look.

From Betty and Beryl we serve Super Freshly Cooked Hand Battered Cod with Chips and Sides such as Mushy Peas, Curry Sauce, Lemon Slices and Pickles and we can cater up to several hundred people in one serving. We can guarantee to be better than your local Fish & Chip Shop as we serve so freshly.

We get a lot of positive feedback for our food as we serve freshly fried, we don't wrap up food like a Fish and Chip shop so our food is less greasy and there will be no chips getting stuck to paper!

Our Vintage Fish And Chip Vans...Like No Other!

 Back in the Good old days when (us at the Food Van) were young, these cool Mark 2 Ford Transit Vans were being made.....

We've got a bit of a soft spot for them and so when we found Betty "The Hungry Plaice" we were delighted.

Betty was a Ford Transit who we believe was converted by the Dormobile company in Folkestone in Kent and then subsequently converted to be used as a Fish and Chip Van on a round in the 1980s in the Hertfordshire area.  The owner then retired her and she was stored in a Barn until recently and we were extremely lucky enough to find her and bring her back to life.  We've not changed Betty much as we've tried to keep her original, she's still got the same livery as she had back then and has all the old equipment inside as well.

We wanted to have another van in our business and we were lucky enough to find Beryl who we have converted into a Fish & Chips van.

Beryl was converted by the Dormobile company like Betty and was used on a MOD site back in the 1980s and so did not cover many road miles, we picked her up when she was empty and
have since converted her into a Fish & Chips Van

Every where Betty and Beryl go they attract attention and we guarantee that there are no other Fish and Chip Vans out there like them.
